Aussie Rules Football Allan Taylor Cup in Cibubur

Setiabudi Dockers finally wins the Australia Rules Football Allan Taylor Cup at Buperta, Cibubur. The event is sponsored by Australia-Indonesia Institute to honour the memory of the late Allan Taylor as a diplomat and Ambassador to Indonesia. This event is played around 150-200 children and youngsters from local schools that already been taught to play the game, as it become the process of Junior football development. Craig Starcevitch, the head of AFL OCeania as well as former player, says that it is the aim to introduce the game to the Indonesian youth, share an experience betweeen Indoensia and Australia culture, and looking as if there any potential player from Indonesia. The game is not very difficult at the first time they learn to play it, and they found that it is an exciting game, as two local players stated on the interview. Ambassador Bill Farmer also attends the event and deliver the trophy for the winners. |
